for the last few months, our in-house team has been collaborating with the animators of studio liminal to bring the creations of the illustration division illustrators to life.

now, for the very first time, the work of our incredible artists has converged in a single animated film – welcome to these days.

Uniting the individual styles of 42 different artists was no small undertaking. Digital painters, watercolorists, vector artists, collagists, fashion illustrators, experts of both the figurative and abstract – amazing illustrators with a variety of specialties, based around the globe, all have a home at our agency. Bringing together their work required the brilliant vision of Carlos Aponte, whose storyboard served as the connective tissue between each illustrator's image. Next, Estudio Liminal animators Pablo Diaz and David Rocha took the helm, making these lovely, previously static images move, and showcasing their ability to vivify nearly four dozen disparate aesthetics with logical, narrative intention. The duo, which has worked with clients including PBS, Adult Swim, Google, and Pepsi,  brought their sense of sophisticated play to each clip, allowing every illustrator's style to move in its native visual language.

The animation is set to a stirring original composition by musician Bernardo Pérez, who created the work in response to playwright Elinor T Vanderburg's optimistic script about our collective dystopia. Illustration Division's founder, Stephanie Pesakoff, fittingly delivers the piece's compassionate narration, championing the magic that lies just beyond the encounter with art.

The result is just over three minutes of blink-and-you'll-miss-it visual delight that celebrates our agency's incredible talent.

Aside from being a fun project, we knew this would be a way to demonstrate how the work of our illustrators moves – and how nimble and versatile our friends at Estudio Liminal are when it comes to expressing these wildly varying styles in motion.

We’ve created the attached compendium guide (click here to view), including timestamps and portfolio links, to serve as a cheat sheet for the inquisitive (and a calling card for the lovestruck). Keep it handy as you watch this, and watch it again, and again.

We hope you'll enjoy These Days as much as we enjoyed creating it for you.
